I have read many books on photography, and is by far the best I've ever seen.
This is a very well written, comprehensive book on all aspects of filmmaking.
The authors have worked very hard, obviously in this book, and it shows. For example, there are numerous references in the book than before reading this, you should read the Page 22-25. This kind of cross a lot of time to do it with precision.
The cost is a real plane in the amount of the information contained therein. In my opinion, the only book you need is in the film. If you do not believe, at least you read it first. I think that will answer all your questions.
I can not recommend them highly enough.
